I'm a 32-year-old professional living on the outskirts of the glittering city of El Dorado, a.k.a. Los Angeles, California. I've been here since graduating from a college back East, where winter temperatures were consistently below zero, meaning I've done my bad weather penance and am now entitled to balmy afternoons with light westerlies coming off the ocean for the rest of my life.
Los Angeles fascinated me from youth, and this blog is an attempt to make sense out of the sometimes baffling meaning in the tea leaves, my "imposition of the narrative line upon disparate images...", to put into words the confusing, conflicting, and colorful incidents that get strung together to form a collective experience of Los Angeles.
It's also to help point some folks into directions -- some funny, some serious -- that are indicative of my sensibilities. I hope you enjoy your stay with LAst CAll.
